Ellen White Commentary on
Daniel and Revelation

Although Ellen White did not discuss every portion of Daniel and Revelation in her writings, she has nevertheless presented an astoundingly comprehensive presentation of their dominant themes. In one of her well-known volumes, The Great Controversy, she presents a clear interpretation of the little horn of Daniel 7; the dragon of Revelation 12; the leopard best of Revelation 13; the related time periods; the 2,300 day prophecy Daniel 8; the two-horned beast of Revelation 13, and the final conflict over the Sabbath and God’s law symbolized by the enforcement of the mark of the beast (see GC pp. 409-450).

The material in these two volumes is presented with the conviction that an understanding of the spiritual issues in Daniel and Revelation is only possible if the Biblical texts are prayerfully studied in conjunction with the Spirit of Prophecy statements which shed light on them. This is the rationale behind the unique format of this book–a format that attempts to synchronize the texts of Daniel and Revelation with a large collection of relevant Ellen White statements.

This material is exhaustive in the sense that all the major Ellen White comments on key passages of Daniel and Revelation are represented. To keep the material within reasonable page limits, redundant comments were left out and the number of less profound statements kept to a minimum.

The Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary material on Daniel and Revelation which appears as footnotes below the gray lines has also been synchronized with the biblical passages. This material was added with the thought that the knowledge of the historical and literary backgrounds of the biblical text could serve to augment the spiritual insight afforded by the Spirit of Prophecy.

It is the hope of the publisher that these two volumes will hasten the fulfillment of God’s glorious design for His beloved church in these last days.
