"Has God's Word taken a back seat to our opinion?

What do you believe in and why? Who is setting your spiritual agenda? The pastor? Church leaders? Our church institutions? Or you yourself? And as you consider these questions, ask yourself one more: Who cares what God says anymore?

The question is valid because an increasing number of Christians today are depending on someone else to do their spiritual thinking for them. As a result, we are becoming a highly opinionated, confused, and spiritually weak people who are vulnerable to deception and to "every wind of doctrine" blowing about today.

"If people would treat their business the way they treat the things of God and faith and eternity," say pastor and author Morris Venden, "they would be bankrupt in a few weeks."

God Says, but I Think is Venden's most urgent challenge to the church to prayerfully return to complete dependence on God in every aspect of faith and life. It urges us to have a faith that is grounded and centered in Christ and His Word rather than one that is based on the fickle opinions and experience of others."

  Morris L. Venden

Morris Venden, popular author of more than thirty books has joined the Voice of Prophecy as an associate speaker for the ministry.

Venden has served as senior pastor at several large churches, most recently at the 2,000-member Azure Hills Church near Loma Linda, California, where the rapidly-growing congregation required three worship services each weekend. Along with his wife, Marilyn, he devoted most of his time to ministering to college and university students and young professionals.

Previous pastorates included churches at La Sierra University and Pacific Union College, in California, and Union College, in Nebraska. Tapes of Venden's sermons have been distributed widely and together with his many books have presented the biblical message of righteousness by faith in dozens of countries. Tens of thousands, young and old, consider him their spiritual mentor.

Pastor Venden retired at Azure Hills in August, 1998, and immediately joined the Voice of Prophecy ministry team. His duties for the Voice of Prophecy will include speaking at church convocations, colleges and universities, camp meetings, and other public events. He will also be featured on VOP radio broadcasts.

Among Venden's books currently in print are 95 Theses on Righteousness by Faith, Hard to Be Lost, How to Know God's Will in Your Life, Love God and Do As You Please, Never Without an Intercessor, and It's Who You Know, which is based on his 300,000 copy-bestseller, How to Make Christianity Real.
