From the Author . . .

I found myself asking if there was one message from God more than any other that we needed to hear in the twenty-first century. Was there one particular aspect of Christian experience that needed to be deepened? What should be the highest priority in our personal Christina lives for the new century?

I became increasingly convinced that there was such a theme. . . . that theme was prayer.

As Christians we all need a deeper understanding of prayer, for what higher hope can we possibly have than to be linked with the Creator of the universe, to be able to tap His divine power? Nothing can be more pressing than that God’s people should experience all the supernatural power he has available for them.

  Paul Bunday

Paul Bunday was educated at Epsom College (where he was captain of the cricket XI) and Wadham College, Oxford. Following his National Service in Fighter Control, he trained for the ministry at the London College of Divinity under Dr. Donald Coggan (who was later Archbishop of Canterbury).

Following his ordination, Paul Bunday was curate at Woking, then spent six years as Chaplain of Reed’s School, Cobham. During the final years of his ministry he developed a particular interest in biblical meditation. His book on the subject, Spirit Borne, was published by Bible Reading Fellowship in 1996.

Canon Bunday is now retired and lives with his wife Cynthia near Salisbury. They have three grown children. He continues to offer a ministry in prayer and Bible meditation. His interests include walking and cricket.
