Quick Overview

And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: John 17:22 (NKJ).

From eternity the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have been one.

In Jesus’ prayer, He calls for the Church to be one. It’s a big order we cannot accomplish on our own. Jesus’ disciples spent years in His presence but were not one until Pentecost.

Kim Allan Johnson author of The Gift and The Morning shares in this new book a vision of the Church as a team. The word “team” conveys images of togetherness, mutual support, and the blending of talents and abilities to become something together that is much greater than any could be alone.

The Bible tells us that our success as individual Christians depends on our understanding and experiencing the Church as God intended it to be. Johnson believes that it is “the calling of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to portray the union of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.”

“When humanity fell The Trinity related to us on the basis of our need, not Theirs.

While we were spitting in God’s face, His beloved Son died in agony for each of us. We got the opposite of what we deserved. We got the Best when we deserved the least.”

Now it’s your turn to give your best to the least of your brethren. The church can reflect something of the glory of God. Through your words and deeds, in the home, church, community, and workplace, you can be an ambassador of reconciliation and relational healing.

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY:

Kim Allan Johnson

Kim Johnson was raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He became a Seventh-day Adventist while attending engineering school in Boston and then changed colleges and majors to become a theology student at Atlantic Union College. After earning a Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University Seminary, he pastored for ten years in Massachusetts and Maine. His career took another turn in 1984 when he attended accounting classes at the University of Southern Maine School of Business and became associate treasurer of the Northern New England Conference.

Kim’s wife, Ann, came to the United States from Yugoslavia at the age of sixteen, moving from a small island in the Adriatic Sea to downtown Queens in New York City! Kim and Ann met at college and have been married for twenty-nine years. Their daughter, Stefanie, graduated from Columbia Union College as an English major and is currently working at the Adventist college, Villa Aurora, in Florence, Italy.

Kim enjoys writing, traveling with his family, reading, laughing and crying with his small group, attending concerts by great musicians, and being involved in the arts in general. His first book, The Gift, became a best-seller and has touched hearts all over the globe. His follow-up book, The Morning, explores the wonder of Christ’s resurrection and unfolds its vital meaning for our lives today.

He says, "I feel passionately about pointing people to God’s amazing, unconditional love. Our primary purpose as Christians and as a church is to free people from the life-sapping lies and distortions of the devil by revealing the truth about the character of God."
